We (Kathy and Tristan) have nearly 30 years experience between us, and our knowledge of biomechanics, physical therapy, corrective exercise and performance enhancement is an unbeatable combination.

This new brand is our second venture together. After several years teaching personal trainers how to be the best in the business delivering online education, we (Kathy and Tristan) are coming ‘home’ to service our own clients again with massage and movement coaching– our passion is helping you to achieve your fitness and performance goals, ​as fast as possible and without pain.

Why we do it:

With nearly 30 years experience in the fitness and massage industries between us, we have seen a lot of clients! The one thing that annoys us both is that people who put effort into staying active and healthy are often the same ones that suffer from aches and pains - but it doesn't have to be that way.
​Anyone can find information online about how to run further, lift heavier, lose more weight - but what they also find is additional strain on their body that ends in niggles and frustration, and no idea what has gone wrong or how to fix it. 

our philosophy:

The commitment to staying active should not mean a decision to get on the injury merry-go-round. You should not have to stop what you love doing because it hurts, nor should you invest time into rehab sessions only to return to exercise and have something else 'break'. There is a better way, and it starts with Pain Free Fitness. Now, you can put in the effort and reap the rewards, not the ice pack.

Kathy, Diploma of remedial massage:

With a heavy focus on assessment first, I like to get to the cause of the problem and understand how your body moves. If you have pain, your body is likely to be out of balance and I use various techniques to get you back in alignment.

​My tool kit includes massage, stretching, myofascial release, trigger pointing and activation exercise. A lot of clients refer to me as 'a physio' because I have a treatment rather than massage-only focus to my sessions.

​Previously, I have worked with various sports including rugby union, cricket, netball, athletics and fitness enthusiasts of all shapes and sizes, so I can assure you that my hands are firm and my elbows pointy enough to treat even the strongest of clients.

Tristan, masters in sports coaching:

To build strength, you first need a solid foundation of correct muscular patterning. My exercise programming reflects this and I am deliberate in selecting exercises that counteract your individual imbalances and the negative effects of everyday life.

I work with clients who are getting pain while exercising - from low back pain when doing core work, to shoulder impingement and bursitis from overhead work, to knee and hip pain while running. If you want to be active or have goals you want to achieve, I will help you find a way to move pain-free, by changing the way you move.

​I draw knowledge from both my formal university education as well as national level competition in decathlon, rugby union and power lifting.
